These classes are planned to teach unique skills each week. Class time is spent learning fun new recipes that students create and enjoy. In learning these recipes, students will attain applicable cooking techniques and useful skills that will show how cooking can be fun, easy, and healthy. It’s time for students to step out of their comfort zones, roll up their sleeves, and embrace their budding culinary skills!

Students will learn:

  • basic knife skills
  • sanitation
  • dips and sauces
  • some new favorite dishes
  • to clean as they go
  • prepare their ingredients
  • read recipes before they start

All-inclusive Classes

Our classes include all ingredients, cookware and instruction. At the end of the class they will have a tasty treat or meal to share.

Budding foodies will enjoy five fun days of hands-on experience—from shaping meatballs and baking mac and cheese to churning homemade ice cream. They’ll learn basic kitchen skills while studying up on their favorite food groups—like dessert and appetizers. On the final day, parents are invited to sample a test menu by their star chefs. Each student goes home with a printed menu and graduation certificate. Designed for ages 8-16, our all-new summer series will help your child become a more creative and confident cook.

Classes run about two hours each and last for five consecutive days. Young chefs will enjoy generous samples of each delicious dish.

Great cooking is about more than recipes—it’s about techniques. In our classes learn together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

Classes are 1 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted. working in pairs, our hands-on classes are limited to 16 students. Students will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class. Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back. Enjoy a generous taste of every dish.

Our recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc.

If you have a food allergy, please contact us before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.

Example Menu

Day 1: Some basics & easy appetizers

  • Sanitation: Students will learn to be tidy and organized in their kitchen.
  • Basic knife skills: We will learn to get comfortable using a kitchen knife safely.
  • Vegetable crudité: Students will work towards proficiency in their knife skills while preparing various seasonal vegetables, as well as learning various methods of cooking and presenting vegetables.
  • Ranch dressing and hummus: Learn Chef Holen’s secret hummus recipe as well as making delicious ranch dressing from scratch.

Day 2: Pizza Day

  • Scratch made pizza dough: We’ll learn the basics of yeast breads to understand fermentation and make pizza dough from scratch using 5 simple ingredients.
  • Red sauce: Tomato sauce is one of the 5 classic French mother sauces, we’ll learn to make “Pomodoro,” or pizza sauce to round out our custom made pies.
  • Choose your own toppings: Continue using your new found knife skills while prepping your favorite toppings.

Day 3: Pasta Day

  • Pasta by hand: Students will learn how to make, roll out, and cut pasta by hand. We’ll turn it into fettuccini and ravioli and add your favorite sauces and fillings.
  • Pesto sauce: Learn how to make this bright sauce using wonderful fresh ingredients.
  • Alfredo sauce: What kid doesn’t love this cheesy, creamy sauce? Learn how to make it, and then learn how to make it your own.

Day 4: Baking

  • Sourdough bread: Learn how to make sourdough bread using your very own starter. We’ll go over fermentation, gluten development, and baking techniques.
  • Chocolate chip cookies: We will make chewy and delicious cookies use the proper creaming technique.
  • Brownies: Through out the box and make your own brownies from scratch.

Day 5: Freestyle
